    Tyler Newman is no stranger to the stage. A sophomore at Hanover High School, Tyler has been involved in both theatre and chorus since the fifth grade, showcasing a spectrum of talents you may have seen in his most recent roles as the humble yet revered “Gus the Theatre Cat,” in Cats, and the witty and melodramatic “Timon” in Disney’s The Lion King JR., both directed by Hanover High School Theatre Department’s Rene Staub.

    Tyler is also a member of Hanover High School’s elite Madrigals, directed by Olivia Schmidt. Tyler shares that his favorite part of performing is the rush of adrenaline he feels after the curtain closes.

    Offstage, Tyler receives First Honors, is a member of the golf team, and is a thrower on the track and field team, both at HHS.

    As a foodie, Tyler cultivates his passion for culinary arts both in his classes at school and at home, where his parents nurture his exploration and experimentation with recipes and technique.     The award-winning Hanover High School Theatre Department will bring one of the most famous musicals in the world to the stage this spring. A cast and crew of dozens will present Les Miserables School Edition at the HHS Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 7 and 8 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 9.

    Back by popular demand! Come See “9 out of 10 Dentists,” the improv troupe from Hanover High and Middle schools perform at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16 at Hanover Middle School. Tickets are $5 and include dessert. The students will perform improv games similar to “Whose Line Is It Anyway.” The students entertained a great audience in October and look forward to another night of fun.
